How it works
- 1Find your Place ID with Google's free Place ID Finder (search your business name, copy the ID that starts with ChIJ). If your Business Profile already gives you a review link, paste that instead.
- 2Paste it above and check the QR code with your own phone: it should open the star rating for your business.
- 3Download the QR code and print it on the counter, the receipt, the table tent or the bag.
- 4Ask happy customers to scan it after the visit. Do not offer rewards for reviews, Google does not allow it.
Questions
What is a Google Place ID and where do I find it?+
It is the unique ID Google gives every place on Maps, usually starting with ChIJ. Search your business in Google's Place ID Finder and copy it. You can also paste a review link from your Google Business Profile if you already have one.
Why not just use the QR code from my Business Profile?+
You can. Google's own code can only be created from a desktop browser and gives you no branding control. This tool is faster, works from any device and lets you download a clean code to place on your own design.
Can I give customers a discount for leaving a review?+
No. Google treats reviews given in exchange for a discount or free item as fake engagement and can remove them. Ask, do not pay.
Can I see how many people scan it?+
A plain QR code is static and cannot report scans. To count scans per location or flyer, point the code at a short link from your LINKNOWN dashboard and edit the destination any time.
